Live musicians add a
lovely touch to wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and dinners.
Those that don't need electricity are particularly suited to outdoor
ceremonies. Harpists, pianists, and ensemble groups are all
available options depending upon your tastes and budget. If you
have trouble finding a small group that suits you, consider calling
Gonzaga or Whitworth University's music departments. You never
know what great student groups might be out there.
Live bands add a lot of
flair to wedding receptions. They do tend to take up a lot of
space, however, so coordinate with your facility to make sure there is
enough room for your number of guests AND a band before you hire them.
They may also need more set up and take down time than a DJ, so plan
accordingly.
If you decide to hire a Swing or Latin band, consider
booking a few private-group dance lessons for your family and friends
before the wedding. This fun activity will give them the
confidence to get out there and start the dancing at your reception.
