The Internet Wedding Directory
for Spokane, WA, & Coeur d'Alene, ID
and the surrounding area

This directory has been created to help people who are planning weddings, receptions, birthday parties, or anniversary celebrations find information about local vendors in the greater Spokane and Coeur d'Alene areas.

Inwed is a free site for all concerned, maintained by Amanda Hansen, owner of the Dance Street Ballroom, an event facility and Ballroom dance studio in Spokane, WA since 1997.

We're currently (3-08) in the process of updating this site and verifying all of the information.  Please let us know of any vendors who you think should be added and of any incorrect information that you find, including inoperable or redirected links.  Click an Info@Inwed link to contact us.

Thank you for visiting Inwed and happy planning!

Weddings & receptions are a LOT of work!  It's daunting to start planning one for the first time, and it helps to find a vendor whom you like and trust to start you on your way with some recommendations.

It's also helpful to talk to any recently married friends and see which of their vendors they would recommend to you.  Word of mouth is an excellent way to start building a short-list of the main vendors you'll need:

Ceremony Location
Reception Facility
Photographer
Caterer
DJ
Florist
Cake Designer
Officiant

There are many other smaller elements as well, but booking your facilities allows you to set a positive date, which then allows you to book your photographer, caterer, & DJ.  The best of these vendors can book up far ahead of time.  If you set your heart on a particular vendor, & they are available on your date, pay your deposit right away!

Flexibility can be your friend.  Consider a Friday evening wedding instead of a Saturday, or pick your venue and THEN decide on your date by choosing one of their open dates.  Many vendors have "holes" in their schedules due to random chance or cancellations.  Even if you're on a short timeline it doesn't hurt to contact a vendor and ask if they happen to have your date open, just by chance.

The shortest wedding we ever did was 16 days, and it went off without a hitch, with the added bonus that the planning did not rule their lives for a year.  These families were very decisive, flexible, and easy going, and those traits really helped make it a success.  This isn't for everyone, of course, but it does demonstrate that you don't HAVE to pick a date a whole year away as many of the planning books will tell you.

In fact, a lot of the details in the planning books I've seen are just extra work and frou-frou for you to waste your money on.  If you have a Leprechaun's pot-o-gold by all means feel free to frou frou all you like, but if you don't this site can still help you plan a fantastic, memorable event that your friends will rave about for years to come.
